My name is Ian Abbott, and I live in Santa Clara, California. I have many years of experience in biotechnology manufacturing and technical support, including supervision, as well as some aviation industry experience.
 
I earned a bachelor of science degree in aviation operations with a minor in business from San Jose State University. I have also earned a certificate in hazardous materials management from UC Santa Cruz Extension.
 
The purpose of this web page is to provide links to files and information that I want to share. I hope that you find something interesting here.

Look At The Angels - WWII Ninth Air Force History


Click the images on either side to download a copy of "Look At The Angels: The Story of Tactical Air Power in the Battle of Western Europe," by my grandfather, Maj. William B. Abbott, Jr. This book was completed in 1945, but was never published. It includes a Foreward written by Lt. Gen. Hoyt S. Vandenberg, commander of the Ninth AIr Force. 

Eric Osen's Army Service

Eric's service included caring for President Johnosn's dogs and a year in Vietnam caring for sentry dogs. When we worked together in the biotechnology industry,  Eric was my manager, my mentor, and my friend. I will always be grateful to have known him.

Collision on Final Approach


On April 12, 1973, a US Navy P-3C patrol aircraft and a Convair 990 operated by NASA collided while on final approach to Naval Air Station Moffett Field in Mountain View, California. Sixteen of the seventeen people aboard the two aircraft were killed.
